In knitting news, Carol informed us that this weekend is Worldwide Knit in Public Day, which is being celebrated tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford Beach.
It was my last knitting morning for a long time (heavy sign) so we took a group photo at Last Drop. I am going to miss this group so much!
Look what Carol made! We were all mesmerized when she explained how she took an old purse and covered it in a knitted fabric, knit from eyelash yarn. A bit of sewing and voila! a new purse!

Since it was the project that wouldn't end, I thought I'd make it official that the college colors-themed graduation present is finished! I mailed everything off yesterday. Priscilla has the pattern for the "fit as you go" mittens. The scarves and light blue hat were done ad lib. The blue rolled hat was from KnitPicks. It's super easy and really cute; I'm thinking of making one for myself later on.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this blog after I move. I have a few ideas, and will mull them over while I unpack boxes........ til then ...............

Mary's Hat for Veronica

Mary made this adorable hat for Veronica. The pattern was purchased from Ruhama's as a single pattern (not book). It is produced by Ann Norling, titled "Swirl Hat," and was created by Gail Tanquary. The yarn used was also purchased from Ruhama at the winter sale last year; not quite 2 balls were needed. (It was a yarn that changed color.) Specs are: 127 Print, 100% lambs wool, 50 grams, color "Partita," made in Italy.

Priscilla's Baby Hat

Priscilla and her sister-in-law, Mary, with a beautiful baby hat that Priscilla knit using the Fair Isle (stranding) method.

Carol's Hat and Mittens

Don't these look so warm and cozy! (Carol's dog Darwin thinks so too!) The pattern for the mittens is available free online. The hat is from the first One Skein Wonders book. Carol added a wide "brim" and two tassels.

Mary's Cabled Hat

This is the hat that Mary knit for Veronica to trick-or-treat in. Isn't it cute?!!! The hat was knit with Red Heart yarn and Mary used the magic loop to do the knitting at the top. Good job Mary!
